Scurry Airave gets remixed by Airvana, has VoIP landline as well as EV-DO await
The Samsung-sourced femtocell that Scurry as well as Verizon have been offering (as a Airave as well as Wireless Network Extender, respectively) is all good and g reat, but it’s got one deadly flaw: unlike AT&T’s aptly-named 3G MicroCell, it doesn’t have await for 3G data — it’s compatible with CDMA 1x alone. Verizon’s regulating which later this year with an updated indication from Samsung, though thanks to the fresh FCC filing, it looks like Sprint will be taking the dissimilar track by roping in Airvana for the Airave’s inheritor. On top of EV-DO, the interesting bit about this puppy is which it supports a VoIP-routed landline connection around behind; we’re not certain whether Scurry essentially skeleton on enabling this additional jack, though it’s privately referredto in the draft manual, so you wouldn’t disbelief it. No word on the recover only yet — though FCC approval is often asingle of the last steps upon a product’s highway to sell, so you might see it soon.
