Nokia 7- or 9-inch MeeGo inscription rumored to be using ARM (not Moorestown) in Q4
While DigiTimes has been known to get a gossip scold now as well as again, the success rate falls off dramatically when traffic with companies HQ’d outside of its native Taiwan. Keep which in thoughts when you hear it plead the Nokia inscription with possibly the 7- or 9-inch shade. DigiTimes, speaking with “upstream member makers,” claims which a Foxconn manufactured device — of which, about 100 engineering samples have already been constructed — will be ARM-based with a Q4 launch targeted. If loyal (and that’s the big IF) then it would positively be running the MeeGo OS (that’s a Quanta-built prototype above) when it ships. Of march, DigiTimes has been rumoring an ARM-based smartbook from Nokia due in mid 2010 for almost the year. And theory what? It’s midst 2010, with smartbooks/netbooks right away out of character as well as tablets all a fury. Thing is, we’d have thought that Nokia would be some-more expected to opt for Intel’s Moorestown in await of their partnership since a Q4 timing. But hey, it’s only rumor, let’s not get as well carried away.
