Motorola manages $162 million Q2 distinction, turns which scowl upside down

It’s the good day here, since rather than than bad ‘ol Sad Moto you get to bust out Happy Moto, as Motorola has released a little good headlines in the Q2 financial report. Earnings were $162 million, up from $26 million this time final year. That sounds like a big burst, though compared to overall sales of $5.4 billion you can see things have been still rather tight — generally given those sales were down from $5.5 billion a year before and all-important mobile device sales total forsaken six percent to $1.7 billion. Also, these numbers were boosted by a “poignant legal allotment” valued during $228 million. Maybe intellectual skill wasn’t a only thing Moto got from RIM?
