NBC Universal says 99-cent rentals would ‘devalue’ calm, News Corp calls them the ’short-term exam’
ABC as well as Fox may have been peaceful to partial with their TV shows for 99 cents a pop upon the brand-new Apple TV and at Amazon, but don’t be astounded if NBC Universal fails to join their ranks. “We do not think 99 cents is the right cost point for the calm,” pronounced CEO Jeff Zucker at an investor discussion progressing this week, noting which NBC shows have been indeed benefaction on iTunes for those willing to shell out $1.99. That’s not the usually bad headlines for video-on-demand enthusiasts, as News Corporation is assumingly reconsidering the stance — though subsidiary Fox is currently dishing out 99-cent shows, boss Chase Carey called the impasse a “short-term test.” Guess that brave brand-new world of poor streaming is still the ways off, eh?
