Redbox announces skeleton to come in streaming commercial operation subsequent year
It may not be utterly a same viewable passing from one to another that Netflix made, but it looks similar to DVD kiosk association Redbox will soon be making the pull of its own into the streaming commercial operation. That word comes true from the CEO of primogenitor company Coinstar, Paul Davis, who told listeners to a company’s recent earnings call that it is in “detailed negotiations with a number of highly meddlesome parties” to launch a “Redbox-branded” streaming service sometime subsequent year. That would appear to suggest that Redbox will be relying on the partner already determined in the field rather than rolling the own use, though Davis was differently light upon details, adding only which streaming represents a “poignant event” for a company. That doesn’t meant Redbox will be getting out of the kiosk business anytime shortly, though — according to Davis, there’s still the “prolonged, profitable life forward” there.
