Virtual Camera Mimics Techniques Pioneered In James Cameron’s Avatar Movie
Game researches during a University of Abertay Dundee have developed a practical camera based upon the same techniques pioneered in James Cameron’s Avatar movie for less than $200.
The brand-new method of virtual filming called Simul-cam pioneered by Cameron allows the recorded image to be processed in real time prior to it appears on a directors guard.
The team led by mechanism games record teacher Matt Bett, have linked a power of a practical camera – where the mechanism dramatically enhances what the movie camera could grasp – regulating the motion-sensor. This allows utterly intuitive, immediately manageable camera actions inside of any computer-generated world.
“Avatar is a fantastic film in terms of the technical achievements. To push a bounds of filmmaking compulsory the origination of code brand-new techniques, that is staggering. What the Simul-cam record allows is the kind of augmented reality, where the computer-generated universe can be seen immediately.”
The complement is currently upon uncover during a EoN discussion during this year’s digital humanities legal holiday during a University.
