Verizon Charges $50 More Than AT&T for Off-Contract iPhone 4

According to Verizon’s FAQ, a new iPhone 4 will cost $50 some-more off-contract than it does from AT&T. While a prices of the handset is a same from both carriers if you sign up for the two-year contract, the unencumbered handset will cost $650 for a 16GB chronicle and $750 for a 32GB representation. This compares to $600 and $700 from AT&T.

The FAQ additionally makes a launch timings clearer. As formerly announced, existent Verizon clientele will be able to sequence a iPhone upon February 3rd, as well as everybody else can buy it from February 10th. Verizon clientele will usually be able to pre-order during a progressing date, though: “beginning upon February 10th, you can visit an Apple Retail store to purchase and activate.”

Everything else, from purchasing in an Apple Store to iTunes activation, is a same as with a AT&T model.

So because a extra $50? My guess is which Apple may be charging Verizon some-more, as well as it is simply flitting on the price to a client. After all, a GSM iPhone sole by Verizon is exactly the same as each other iPhone sold around a world. And right now, a only association selling a CDMA iPhone is Verizon. It could just be which a typical “economies of scale” haven’t yet kicked in.

Finally, there is a small some-more report upon tariffs. While no pricing is suggested, a FAQ says which “iPhone clientele will need to choose from any of a stream Nationwide plans. Customers will also be required to turn on the data package, pricing will be voiced at the later date.”
