Microsoft has released the first model of its Zune player five years ago. Zune was supposed to directly compete with products from Apple – the iPod. Unfortunately for most Microsoft, Zune and has not received such massive popularity as a player from the apple giant.

According to a recent report by the portal Bloomberg, Microsoft, is likely to cease support for Zune. Instead, the content, which is designed specially for the player, will transfer to mobile devices running Windows Phone 7 (recall that the Zune HD also runs on this OS). Microsoft itself has not confirmed this information, but Bloomberg is sure that song Zune has long been sung.

And maybe, Microsoft will simply cease to produce new models of the player and will focus on current sales – Zune HD.
