Intel Atom processor is preparing for microservers

At the moment, known names and specifications of only two models – Xeon E3-1260L (4 cores, 2,4 / 3,3 GHz, 8 MB ​​cache L3, TDP 45 watts) and Xeon E3-1220L (2 cores, 2,2 / 3,4 GHz, 3 MB of cache L3, TDP 20 watts). As you might guess, both models support the technology Turbo Boost. Under the plan Intel, in the second half of this year will be released the third model. It will be based on Sandy Bridge microarchitecture, and have a very low TDP – 15 watts However, this is not the limit, as Intel plans to reduce this figure to 10 watts or even lower.
