Baidu, "Chinese Google", is planning its own OS
Tensions between China and Google are continuing. Leading Chinese search engine Baidu plans to release its own operating system, which will be used in smart phones and tablet PCs. It promises to be easy and versatile.
According to the head Baidu Robin Lee (Robin Li) the new system should be loaded no more than one second, and on the main page should not be anything other than the search window. To develop a similar operating system can take anywhere from three to five years.
The share of Baidu in the Chinese search market is 70%, while the mobile is kept at around 26%. The new operating system is unlikely to compete with the popular platform Android, unless the Chinese market, which counts and this company.
