In contrast to the techniques of creating 3D-images by turning the lens around the object, the new lens provides a lot of pictures at once, combining them later on your computer in 3D-image.

The lens is fairly simple to manufacture (as the material used is thermoplastic polymethylmethacrylate) and will have the dimensions of the nail. In the photo you can see the nine faces that will survey the subject from nine different angles simultaneously.
